UI UX Design for Finsight – A Finance Company
Project Brief
FinSight, an innovative finance company based in New York City, partnered with us for Fintech UI Designer and Mobile App UI Designer services to launch an intuitive and secure online platform. The platform offers a range of financial services, including personal banking, investment management, and financial planning.
The primary objective of this project is to design a website that not only delivers information clearly and concisely but also provides an engaging user experience that instills trust and promotes user retention. The website will serve as a digital gateway for clients to access a variety of financial services, manage their accounts, track investments, and receive personalized financial advice.
User Research and Persona Development
The design process began with user research, which involved gathering insights from potential users through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. The research aimed to understand the financial habits, preferences, and frustrations of users when interacting with online financial platforms. This phase helped identify key features that users needed and the common obstacles they faced in existing platforms.
Several user personas were developed, including young professionals looking for investment opportunities, middle-aged users seeking retirement planning, and small business owners needing streamlined financial tracking tools. These personas guided the design decisions to ensure the website addressed the specific needs of each user group.
Information Architecture and Wireframing
The team crafted an information architecture that logically organized the website’s content into distinct sections such as personal banking, business solutions, investment services, and customer support. Wireframes for each section were created to outline the basic structure and navigation paths, ensuring intuitive access to all features.
This approach to information architecture and wireframing laid the foundation for a user-centric website design that catered to the diverse needs of the finance company’s clients, enhancing their overall digital banking and financial management experience.
Visual Design and Prototyping
With a clear structure in place, the visual design phase involved creating a sophisticated and trust-inducing design. The color palette was chosen to evoke stability and trust, using shades ofblue and green accented with silver and white.
High-fidelity prototypes of the website were built in Figma, allowing for iterative testing and refinements based on user feedback.
Investment Tracking Tool
The Investment Tools feature included a range of interactive tools such as investment calculators, risk assessment meters, and comparative charts, all designed to assist users in making informed financial decisions. These tools were built using responsive design techniques to ensure that they worked seamlessly on a variety of devices, from desktops to smartphones. For mobile users, special attention was given to touch interactions, ensuring that sliders, dropdowns, and other interactive elements were easily maneuverable with touch gestures.
Dashboard for Personalized Insights
The central feature of the website is a personalized dashboard that provides users with an overview of their financial status at a glance. This dashboard includes widgets for tracking recent transactions, investment performance, and upcoming bills.
This feature includes robust security measures such as two-factor authentication and data encryption, reassuring users about the safety of their financial data.
Educational Resource Hub
This feature was strategically developed to address the common problem of financial illiteracy among users. The hub was organized into categories covering various financial topics, from basic budgeting techniques to advanced investment strategies.
Each category was populated with articles, tutorials, and video content designed to be engaging and informative. The layout of the educational hub was optimized for quick navigation, with search functionality that allowed users to easily find specific topics or interests
Optimized Screen Adaptability
The design was optimized for responsiveness using a mobile-first approach. Considering the increasing prevalence of mobile banking, special attention was given to ensuring that the website’s features were fully functional on smartphones and tablets, using development frameworks to adjust layouts and interactive elements to fit various screen sizes.

Following the launch, FinSight observed a 40% increase in user engagement, particularly on mobile devices, and a significant improvement in customer satisfaction ratings regarding the ease of use and security of the platform.
