Education Portal – SaaS Web Platform

Our Australia based client asked us to develop a Web platform (SaaS Web Application) to manage counseling of students. The design, development and deployment of an interactive web platform management system must be able to manage the students career interests, undertake career assessments and the counselor able to manage the students career interest, values, exploration activities, reported career assessment results & will help them carve out potential career paths. This will also help them prepare on personality development & other career-centric skills. The students will be able to check and confirm their appointments, build their resumes with the help of staff, take on surveys & assessment, etc.

Guidelines

  • Computer-based career management system
  • The user of the system prepares a career profile
  • Career guidance tools that enable users to understand and plan their careers
  • All client counseling, communication, record keeping for career advisers
  • Set of privacy terms and conditions with students about how information will be used and safeguarded

Communication

  • Career advisers can send announcements, alerts and messages
  • Manage calendar for scheduled appointments, info sessions, etc
  • Survey engine to send out evaluation forms etc and when the student completed its is returned it is then stored and managed in a resource pool for reporting purposed
  • Discussion forums and jobs
  • Internal social networking for when jobs become known from hidden, job market, from either students, parents and teachers

Assessment

  • Career assessments – student completes
    • Career Motivation Profile (CMP) will help an individual prioritize what really is motivating to the person in their work. This can also help the individual work out the trade-offs the person will need to make in his career.
    • Career Themes Inventory (CTI) will help an individual discover their interests in business work.
    • Additional Career Assessments including but not limited to a 360 Review, Finding Your Right Industry, Finding the Right Job in the Right Company, etc.
    • Skills inventory assessment and skills gap analysis
    • Career Abilities Profile – Career ability is evaluated against the broad level attributes such as Problem Solving, Taking Initiative and Interpersonal Effectiveness, team work and many other skills.
    • Career Abilities Profile (CAP) will help an individual identify their top abilities in business work. The user can rate as many as 41 different abilities, which may have an impact on a person’s career.
    • Suggested surveys and assessments from careers adviser
    • Keeps journals off the career map
    • Attends to goals setting and dues dates
    • Attends to core competency ratings and 360 degree reviews from employees, parents and family, teachers, friends
  • The system introduces and educates the user about the concept of a Career Map.
  • Educates a user on the importance of actively managing their Career Path. This section needs to sell the user on the importance of active Career Management.
  • Educates the user on how to create and manage their Career Map. It describes the different views available and instructs the user on not only how to create a Career Map.

Administration

  • Career adviser will have a list of outstanding, in progress and completed task with a quick link to the user’s profile
  • Career adviser has easy access to a user saved and recommended content and incomplete tasks, assessments, maps etc. and a mechanism for managing admin and user content as well as provide calls to action for recommended content or activities.
  • coaches the user through identifying their Career Management needs
  • Milestone, due dates, action plan, obstacle and career strategy management
  • Search function on all content and compare profiles on related occupation interests, skills and core competency ratings

School Set Plan

  • Career planning, personal development and transition strategies for young people
  • Map individual learning pathways
  • Promote learning that is aligned with learning goals, interest, skills, values, ambitions, aspirations and abilities
